My ADHD made me be an author...

So I've done many things in my 49 years of life. My career is technology, but in my spare time I've jumped from hobby to hobby trying to find something that I love, and I have found things that I still do some things I'm like why did I spend money on this? One of those things is jewelry making, and I mean metal smithing when I say jewelry making. I still love it, and do it from time to time but I never really intended it to make money. It's just to make me sparkly stuff and stuff I can give as gifts.

Reading has been something that has always been a part of my life. I remember staying up till 2am in high school reading books. Used to drive my Mom nuts. My whole life I have been a voracious reader. I can easily read a good book in a day or two. I LOVE to read, and love the escape to different worlds.

I have also always had problems getting to sleep. If I think about anything 'real,' like my day or problems I am having, I will stay awake all night. When I was young I developed a method that helped me to fall asleep. I build stories in my mind, and I fall asleep fairly easily. The next night I pick up where I left off. I'm not sure why this works for me but it does.

So a couple months ago I had the thought... why not turn my stories into books. I like to write (I have challenges, like I apparently, I don't know how to use apostrophes and comma's) so I started my writing journey with my first book of three (maybe more). I like spicy erotic novels but what's always annoyed me is woman are always portrayed as the submissive type that need big strong men to save them. Well not me. I decided my leads will always be strong, intelligent women. And sex, can't forget the hot steamy sex.

Sex and kink have be stigmatized for too long. Healthy adults can have steamy, kinky sex. Believe it or not you do not have to experience trauma or some such other things to enjoy kinky, hot sex in life or a book. If you have a problem with any of this, just don't read my books. It's that simple.

So in my coming blog posts I will go over the troubles I've encountered self publishing and really whatever comes to mind. I hope you enjoy and check out Emancipation available for purchase on B&N, AMZ, and Apple Books.

Thanks for stopping by :)

A.L.
